Whats the difference between a Content Management System and a standard website?

The simple difference is that a standard website is usually designed and put together by a web design company. This generally means the website is what’s known as ‘hard coded’, so if the client wanted to change anything even a simple word they would have to go back to the company to ask them to do it for them. This usually means a charge will have to be paid.

A Content Management System means that you have control of the content on your website. You can go into it at any time and usually simply add whatever you want.
