Found in 1997 Welsh crisp manufacturer Real Crisps has rapidly expanded to reach the Welsh and UK market.

The company started by selling its products to the local area, via its van sales services. After only a few months of operation, the company grew fast, becoming suppliers of wholesalers not only in Wales but all the UK.

In 1999, after receiving personal investments from The Directors of Bar and Restaurant Foods Ltd, the company changed its name from Real Crisps to Sirhowy Valley Foods Ltd. Since then Real Crisps gained its place on the shelves of major supermarkets in the UK including Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys.

Their two brands, Real Crisps and REAL. Chips hand cooked crisps cater for different markets. While Real Crisps are mostly sold at retail outlets, such as supermarkets and pubs, REAL. Chips target higher quality food shops such as hotels and delis.
