Summary
The Chorley Group are a family run business that was founded in June 1989. They provide nationwide car leasing and van leasing options. Supplying cars of all manufacturers, makes and models.
Requirements
Already an existing client of IT3.com, The Chorley Group required an additional website to promote another area of their business. They now offer a vehicle leasing service and wanted to get an online presence for this section of their company. As they were already using SEO Automotive and SEO Automanage products they felt confident that IT3.com would be able to develop a new bespoke website that would meet all of their needs and requirements. They wanted a clean and professional looking website, that would be easy for visitors to navigate their way around and find the most up to date inforamtion easily.
Solution provided
IT3.com worked with The Chorley Group to create the perfect solution for their new website. A member of the technical team, first sat down with them to discuss their initial thoughts, how they wanted the website to work and what was to be included within it. We then took those initial ideas away and researched into the best ways of achieveing what the Chorley Group were looking for. For one or two of the areas we felt that it may be better to create it in a slightly different way, so we had discussions with the Chorley Group to provide our recommendations and suggestions.
Once the main outline of the new website had been created we put together a full specification, detailing every element of the site, what it would include and how it would work. Discussions were then held with one of our graphic designers to create the perfect bespoke design for the website which perfectly portrayed the image of the new side of the company. It had to follow certain elements of the current company branding but distinct enough to show it was a stand alone business.
The main area of the site was to enable users to select a vehicle they were interested in and then see what prices it would be to lease or contract hire depending on the number of years on the contract or the amount of mileage. The Chorley Group were already able to get this information from a particular source but somehow they needed to feed this information into the website as quickly as possible, without manual intervention if possible. We were able to develop the system to do just that, however, the information fed from the source only included the car name and the prices. The Chorley Group wanted to be able to provide all the information about each and every car to give the user a much better experience. We then wrote an additional section into the back end of the website that enabled the feed coming in to the website to cross reference CAP data so that it picked up and displayed all of the vehicle information. The feeds come into the website twice a week to ensure the data is completely up to date, therefore, the cross referencing with CAP data happens automatically everytime a new feed enters the site.
Chorley also wanted the ability to be able to manually add vehicles on to the system. So we added an administration area to allow them to do just that. It was agreed that it would take 3 months to complete the full specification for the site. The Chorley Group are very pleased with their new site and it is working extremely well.
